SsangYong adds seven dealers to network, more to come

SsangYong Motor UK has added a further seven locations to its dealer map, just two months after launching their first ever TV campaign.

The SsangYong network now stands at 51 sites – 40 sales & service dealerships and 11 service centres. Using the impressive new Korando crossover to attract buyers to the brand, the once beleaguered manufacturer is making a bold return to the UK market with a number of further dealer appointments expected in the coming weeks.

“We have worked tirelessly over the past eight months to re-establish SsangYong in the UK,” explained Paul Williams, CEO of SsangYong Motor UK. “While trading conditions are testing, franchised dealers have been very keen to talk to us and we expect to announce a number of further appointments in the coming weeks.

“The new Korando crossover is winning a lot of friends – dealers, customers and journalists. With a market-leading five-year limitless mileage warranty and SsangYong’s heritage for producing well-engineered, reliable and honest vehicles, the message is getting through and converting into sales.”

“The new Korando gives dealers a superb and well-priced product to sell into the fast-growing crossover segment of the market,” adds Steve Gray, SsangYong Motor UK’s marketing and communications director, “while Rexton and Rodius have a very loyal following especially with those who tow a caravan, horsebox or trailer, have a large family or run a private hire business. We have supported the brand’s relaunch with national TV advertising, and in addition to the five-year limitless mileage warranty there’s a five-year financing offer with five year free servicing to help draw customers in.”

Available in dealerships now is the Korando LE, distinguished by its special 18-inch alloy wheels, rear spoiler and privacy glass. The LE includes luxury touches inside such as heated front seats, leather-covered steering wheel and gear shift, and for extra safety and convenience, cruise control and rear parking sensors.

Priced at £17,995, the Korando LE is powered by a 173bhp 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo diesel engine producing 266 lb/ft of torque with CO2 emissions of 157g/km. Mechanically it’s identical to the two-wheel-drive Korando S that is available for £1,000 less. Four-wheel-drive variants start at £21,445 for the Korando EX.

The seven new dealers can be found in Bristol, Derbyshire, Gloucestershire, Hertfordshire, Lancashire, Northumberland and Surrey.
