When you’re delivering food to the nation, making sure that dinner is on the table for hundreds of thousands of families each week, reliability of your delivery vehicles is pretty important.
That’s why the milestone reached by Iceland Foods last week is worth shouting about; it might only have been for one day, but their entire fleet of Mercedes-Benz vans were on the road, working hard, without a single issue. There were no breakdowns, no warranty work and no accident damage.
Before switching to an exclusively Mercedes fleet, Iceland ran a number of brands, with 15% of the total number of vehicles off the road had the same age profile as the Mercedes fleet now.

Alex McKinlay, head of home deliveries at Iceland. “The 24-hour support of Mercedes-Benz Vans dealers really helps to keep vehicle downtime to a minimum, but to have a fully utilised fleet is virtually unheard of.”
